Most of you should already know this but I might as well say it here too: I’ll be attending Tufts University School of Medicine this fall. I will be part of the MD/MPH program, which means that I graduate in four years with both degrees under my belt. MPH is Master of Public Health, a professional practice degree. I plan to focus as much as possible on health policy and economics, but the Tufts program doesn’t have much room for specialization. I expect to be able to tap into the many local resources, including the Harvard and Boston University Schools of Public Health, and my alma mater, MIT.
I’m very excited, since it feels like a giant step forward to actually be starting medical school soon. I hope to keep writing on a semi-regular basis, but since my dual degree program is simultaneous rather than consecutive, I do expect a pretty heavy courseload. Wish me luck!
